our Propade-based Live Fire Training System Products

Prosafe provides the industry’s most versatile and cost-effective propane-based live fire training systems, engineered to bridge the gap between classroom theory and the high-stress reality of the fireground. Our high-quality firefighting simulators offer the unique capability to utilize either liquid or vapor propane, ensuring unrivaled realism and total instructor control for structural, aviation, maritime, and hazmat drills. Whether you require a permanent fixed training site or a fully mobile fire training unit—complete with an integrated power source and trailer—Prosafe delivers safe, repeatable, and environmentally friendly environments that allow first responders to master 3-D fire suppression and emergency tactics with their own equipment.

A permanent installation designed for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) crews. It typically features a full-scale mock aircraft with multiple burn zones, including engine fires, cabin fires, and “fuel spill” simulations on the ground using specialized burn pans.

Powered by our versatile P-250 system, these props simulate common outdoor hazards like dumpsters, leaking pipes, and fuel spills. Whether fixed or mobile, they allow for cost-effective 3-D fire suppression training using either liquid or vapor propane.

A rugged, steel mock-up of a passenger vehicle. It features propane burners in the engine bay, the passenger compartment, and the trunk/fuel tank area, allowing firefighters to practice hood-opening techniques and cooling strategies without the toxic off-gassing of a real car.

Designed for technician-level training, this prop focuses on leaking pressurized vessels. It simulates various chemical leaks using a combination of propane (for fire) and water or air (to simulate pressurized gas or liquid leaks), requiring teams to perform “plug and patch” operations under fire conditions.

A portable version of the ARFF site, usually built on a specialized trailer. It allows training centers or military bases to share resources, providing realistic cockpit and cabin fire scenarios that can be transported to different locations.

A highly versatile “firehouse on wheels.” These units are built into modified semi-trailers and feature various rooms (kitchens, bedrooms) equipped with propane burners to simulate residential fires in locations that lack permanent training towers.

While it focuses on Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus proficiency, these units often include “confidence mazes” with localized propane burners or smoke generators. They challenge firefighters to navigate dark, cramped, and heat-intense environments while managing their air supply.

These are propane burner packages installed into existing concrete or steel training towers. They allow departments to turn a standard “smoke building” into a live-fire environment, featuring “smart” controls that let instructors adjust the intensity of the fire from a remote panel.

A multi-level structure—often resembling a ship’s superstructure or engine room—designed to simulate the tight corridors and vertical transitions unique to naval environments. It addresses challenges like “steel-heat” conduction and confined space firefighting.

Specifically designed for aviation units, these props simulate engine fires, cockpit fires, and cabin emergencies. They are often used for both civilian medical transport and military training, focusing on the unique challenges of rotorcraft fires.

Why Propane?

Propane provides the most realistic simulation of fire. It offers lower costs through reduced maintenance and less fuel burned. Propane is also more environmentally friendly than alternative fuel sources.

benefits of propane live fire training

  • Realistic fire simulation with controllable, repeatable flame behaviour
  • Lower maintenance requirements with cleaner operation and reduced residue
  • Reduced fuel use through efficient burns and scenario control
  • Cleaner operation compared to many traditional fuel alternatives

Fuel flexibility and integration

Pro-Safe systems can also be configured to integrate with natural gas and Tek Flame, offering additional flexibility to match site requirements, training objectives, and available fuel sources.

Compliance and Safety Record

Pro-Safe Fire Training Systems Inc. designs live fire training systems to align with a wide range of stringent international compliance requirements. This commitment has positioned Pro-Safe to support training programs and facilities that serve military, airport ARFF, and civilian fire departments, where regulatory expectations and safety standards are exceptionally high.

Safety is central to every simulator, prop, and training evolution. Developed by firefighters for firefighters, Pro-Safe systems are built for controlled operation, repeatable scenarios, and responsible training environments. To date, no training-related injuries have been reported as a result of training with Pro-Safe systems.
